American Red Cross Products

My first chance to really use my new camera...and for a great organization. The week went well.  First off, I was able to spend a lot of time trying out the new camera and adjusting myself to its advanced features. Second, I was able to donate my time to the Red Cross and help them with photographing all of their items for sale and training materials so they can update their website and use the shots for marketing purposes. Best of all, this was great experience in commercial photography, and I am more confident in my abilities now if I were to receive a paying job for this type of work.

New Camera, New Possibilities

Doing what you love......as much as you can.

As some of you know, I was laid off earlier this year and have been struggling to find a job...along with so many others. I have been trying to find something within the same industry, but have also been thinking of new opportunities. I have had a passion for photography since I was young, really starting enjoying the art in back in high school, and have dabbled as much as I could since then. I started looking into the vocation and have come to some realizations....I need more experience and equipment.

Much to my surprise, I got the go ahead to get some new equipment from the wife a few weeks ago. Well, it didn't take me long to hop on that, and still trying to get new lenses and accessories daily. :)  I picked up the newly released Canon 7D with the 28-135 IS kit lens. I am now looking to get at least two new lenses to expand my possibilities; a nice telephoto zoom and a wide angle zoom to start off. I’ll keep you updated to what I get!
